The Gander, Jesse Schenker’s new American restaurant, opened this Thursday in the Flatiron District. 

It features sophisticated but casual American dishes, complemented by an international wine list that was curated by wine director Rick Pitcher (Gotham Bar and Grill). 

Christina Lee, the pastry chef from Schenker’s recette, will create modern takes on classic American desserts. The Gander seats 150 and was designed by James Beard award-winning Thomas Schlesser, who blends mid-century American and contemporary design.
