Travel Deals do exist you just have to know how and where to find them. Being in this industry for eight years I have certainly learned a few tips and tricks for making my money go as far as possible. If you are on a budget, no worries, you can still travel.

We all get the itch to travel, but we can’t just jet off on a vacation at the drop of a hat. I wish I could! Hopefully these tips will allow for more than one vacation this year, you earned it.

Be Flexible With Dates

You can save a ton of money just by changing your departure date. Sometimes moving the travel dates by one or two days can save hundreds of dollars. “You’ll get a better deal during the weekday flights, and use the chartered airlines to save money and time,” according to Ronald Jacobs, President of Funjet Vacations.

Book A Cruise During Wave Season

The best deals for cruises are from January-March, this is called wave season and it’s when the industry releases the best deals. Think of it as a three month black friday, but for cruises. These deals can include anything from deeply discounted prices on a specific cruise to boosts on amenities, like unlimited on-board internet, or getting gratuities and beverage packages included in the costs of a booking.

Book Early

Last minute deals are few and far between. You can sometimes find an amazing deal, but not often especially if you need airfare. You’ll get the best deal, most popular hotels and hottest travel dates by booking in advance.

Purchase Travel Insurance

There are a number of issues and inconveniences specific to travel like weather, that can cause flight cancellation and delay. It’s better to be safe than sorry which is why purchasing travel insurance is extremely essential. You can add an affordable coverage option for trip interruption, delay, loss of baggage, baggage delay, emergency evacuation, medical expense, and travel-related accidents. I would rather lose $250 than $5,000 on a trip!

Use A Travel Agent

Do you fix your own plumbing? Or replace your own roof? No, you hire a professional. Same goes for travel. Research shows consumers who book their trip through a trusted travel advisor receive greater value as well as a more enriching travel experience tailored to their individual needs. With their expertise, travel agents will have a significant impact on controlling travel budget, and ensuring a seamless journey from taking off to returning home.
With so much changing in the travel world right now, a professional should absolutely be used!

Travel Out Of Season

Did you know that traveling over holidays, and school breaks are the MOST expensive times to travel. Everything from flights to hotels are almost double in price if you travel with everyone else. Research the best time to visit, and travel before or after those dates. This is called ‘shoulder season’. You will still have a great time, it just won’t be as costly (or crowded). Want to see The Trevi Fountain in Rome without hundreds, or thousands of others, go during shoulder season!

Go The All-Inclusive Route

Everyone likes to indulge on vacation, and nothing is more relaxing than knowing you can enjoy yourself to the fullest and not have to worry about the surprise charge at the end. All-inclusive packages will include meals, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, excursions, transfers, tips, and taxes. Each resort has different inclusions so make sure you research all that you want included in your trip.

These are just a few simple tips to help keep you on budget when planning your travel. Do you have any good tips for travel planning?
