Fresh beginnings are something to look forward to and if you have a love for travelling, this is the best time to plot where you are planning to be this year. With almost an endless number of choices, you are in for a trip which is devoid of ice; it would be cool to look into places where there are no winters or where January is not a wintry month. Here are some destinations where you can enjoy the year’s first month on the sunny parts of the planet.

Great Ocean Road/B100, Victoria

This drive happens to be one of the most popular in the world because of its beauty. Along the way, you can witness a change in the landscape as you cruise from Melbourne to Adelaide. Melbourne also happens to be one of the top destinations when you are in Victoria and you can watch rocky formations and cliffs as you pass by. If you are in the mood for some driving, this is a place that you should absolutely not miss especially when scenic views are what you love best. The charming town can give you the experience of a lifetime. While here, be sure to stop by the stack of limestone rocks which is known as the Twelve Apostles. This can be found in Port Campbell National Park and it is said that these were formed from 10 million to 25 million years ago. Not all of the stones are standing as some have already eroded but it cannot be denied that it would be interesting to see how the formation looks like.

Cancun, Mexico

As far as vacations are concerned, there is no denying that Cancun is a favorite as it is one of the most wonderful places to visit when you are looking for a beach vacation in January. This exotic resort used to be a quaint fishing island until it was developed and today, there are a lot of visitors who are interested in knowing more about it and exploring every nook and cranny of the place. There are lagoons and marvelous beaches that can blow anyone’s mind. Since this island is nearer to Miami than to mainland Mexico, it is not surprising why there are a lot of tourists who are flocking to it. The Mayan ruins in the Yucatan are nearby and making it a side trip would be cool. While in Cancun, you can rest assured that you will have access to the most luxurious accommodations and facilities.

Barbados, Caribbean Islands

Out of all the islands in the Caribbean, Barbados is the one which is closes to Europe, making it more accessible and more attractive as a holiday destination. There are actually so many things to look forward to in Barbados, especially if you can appreciate rolling hills and a spectacular stretch of the beach. There is an intricate network of caves in the islands and among the most popular is the Harrison’s Cave. Spelunkers would certainly love this place as there are so many cool corners to explore. While in here, it would be cool to try how it would be like to stay in one of those movable houses which are made from wood. And, as far as food is concerned, it wouldn’t be surprising to find dolphin in the menu, if you do, don’t be afraid to try it as it tastes just like porpoise.

Summer in January is certainly a good idea when you love beaches and exploring places while feeling the sun on your face. There are several cool destinations to consider and these are just some of those.
