Due to a rare “aging disease,” this happy girl weighed only 14 pounds (approx. 6 kg)—the same as her baby brother—when she was 6 years old. After her mother set up a Facebook page for her, this little youngster became an internet sensation. Despite being showered with a whole lot of positive comments, she has had to face a fair share of negative comments too.

Born on Dec. 10, 2006, Little Adalia Rose Williams is 12 years old, but she’s already become famous online after her mother set up a Facebook page for her to keep friends and family informed about her rare genetic condition.

The page quickly gained momentum, and now the young lass has garnered an online following of over 13 million Facebook fans; she has also received thousands of emails and hundreds of letters.
Adalia is from Round Rock, Texas, and has a rare disease called progeria, which causes her to age at an accelerated rate. As a result of her condition, she was about the same weight as her baby brother Marcelo when she was 6. The pre-teen is also bald as a result, causing some to mistake her for a boy. According to the Mayo Clinic, the average life expectancy for a person with progeria is only 13 years. Unfortunately, a child with this condition is unable to attend school, since they require constant care. They are also unable to climb stairs without assistance.
As per The Sun, Adalia also suffers from lack of body fat, a high-pitched voice, and severe stiffness in her joints.

Recalling Adalia’s early days, her mother, Natalia Amozurrutia, said that the doctors had noticed that something was wrong within the first four weeks of her life. Two months later, her mother was left heartbroken to know about her daughter’s rare condition, which affects only less than 500 children around the world. Her mother also shared that it was during this stage in time that she “started losing her hair and her little veins started showing up more and her skin started thinning out a lot more.”

However, young Adalia loves to dress up and dance. Her mom once posted a video of her child getting musical—hip-hop dancing along to Vanilla Ice, and pop dancing to Gangnam Style. The spectacle right away sparked up 60 comments in just 30 minutes as per The Daily Mail.
Although most people have been positive, there are always trolls out there letting off negativity online. Sadly, there were several rather unkind Facebook pages that were set up making her a target of hate. There was also a hoax set in motion that she had died, which resulted in RIP pages getting started. Her mother dealt with all of these things and denounced such claims. “NO ADALIA HAS NOT PASSED AWAY!!!!,” she posted. “She is healthy and happily sleeping in her bed having sweet dreams!”

When encountering awkward stares while out and about, her parents tell her that that’s just because “they’ve never seen an angel,” reported Gawker.com as per The Daily Mail.

Her stepfather Ryan Pallante said they want to “just give her amazing memories.”

Meanwhile, she has also received a huge amount of love and support from the community as well. The pre-teen has become a YouTube star with a dedicated following of over 2 million subscribers. The older sister to three young boys shares beauty tutorials and vlogs on her daily activities, providing a glimpse into her fun-filled life.

Talking about her popularity, Adalia told The Sun, “I guess I am a diva because I always get what I want!”

Ryan said: “Having a social media superstar 11-year-old, it’s crazy, especially when we are out in public—you know, a lot of people recognize her.”

We wish little Adalia all the happiness in the world! Life’s too short to pay attention to negativity or be affected by it. There are plenty of good people out there who are more worthy of our friendship. There are many people out there who love you, Adalia!
