United Nations has agreed to condemn the sinking of a South Korean warship by a North Korean submarine in April of this year killing 46 South Koreans.

The draft statement, while not identifying North Korea specifically, does call for “appropriate and peaceful measures to be taken against those responsible.”

The exact language, which includes all five permanent Security Council members, took one month to be agreed upon by China and South Korea.

The Chinese regime opposed a third round of sanctions against North Korea and any direct condemnation in the draft, reported the Associated Press.

The Security Council will meet on Friday to approve the statement.
