Titanfall: Frontier’s Edge finally gets a release date and some added features.

Respawn Entertainment’s latest downloadable content (DLC) is the second of three planned DLCs.

The first DLC, Expedition, was released on May 15th for the Xbox One and PC, and June 17th for the Xbox 360.

Frontier’s Edge will be released on July 31, 2014 for the Xbox One and PC. No date has been announced yet for the Xbox 360 launch.

Similar to ExpeditionFrontier’s Edge will have three new maps. The are “Dig Site,” “Export,” and “Haven.”

Titanfall’s upcoming DLC will also have a new in-game market, the Black Market, and in-game currency.

Players can use credits to buy Titan Insignias and Burn Card Packs.

Titan Insignias are the official insignias of “elite units” such as the IMC and Militia. Once purchased, they will be available to the player via the Titan Custom Loadout screen.

Burn Cards give in-game perks to the player, such as the ability to earn double experience points, and upgrade existing weaponry.

Credits are earned via Match Victory, Match Completion, First Victory of the Day, completing Daily Challenges, selling Burn Cards, and converting experience points into credits once the player is past level 50.

Designer David Shaver assures players that the introduction of in-game currency will not translate into Respawn transiting into allowing players to use real money to purchase items:

“With the introduction of an in-game currency, some may worry that the next step is that we will let players spend real-world money to get an edge in the game. We have stated several times that Titanfall will not have micro-transactions. Fear not, for we plan to keep that promise - NO MICROTRANSACTIONS! The only way to get Credits is by playing the game!”

Frontier’s Edge will be sold for $9.99. Gamers who have purchased the Titanfall Season Pass for $24.99 will get Frontier’s Edge once it is out.
