The measures seek to require voter ID and ballot drop box monitoring for future elections and require a unanimous city council vote to fly new flags.

If passed, the measure would apply statewide, encompassing all municipalities including the 108 charter cities, overriding local election codes.

The city council voted to create a 21-member panel of community members who will be given oversight of the books in the city’s five libraries.

The resolution passed 4–3, with exceptions for residents and city employees who have tested positive for the virus or for first responders responding to calls.
