Marine wind warnings have extended as far as Queensland in the wake of wild weather along Australia’s east coast.

The Bureau of Meteorology alert issued forecast sizzling temperatures in the high-30s to mid-40s in the Kimberley, Pilbara and Goldfields regions.

‘This beautiful place has been ravaged by this disaster, and we want to help far north Queensland get back on its feet as soon as possible.’

Queensland Ambulance Service said two people had been found dead after a boat capsized at Moreton Bay on Tuesday afternoon with 11 people on board.

‘These are towns that do get isolated for long periods of time during monsoonal events - they are well practised at this.’

Shower activity continues about the ranges around Sydney and in parts of the Hunter but heavy falls have eased
