Sir Paul McCartney wants you to give up meat one day a week, at least. So much so, he transformed his plea into a rap, which you can see in this video.

Making this clip just in time for the UN climate summit, which took place on Sep 23 in New York, the ex-Beatle is convinced that cattle ranching is a major contributor to climate change, and we can all make a difference by giving up meat on Mondays (or any day of the week)–but no doubt this devoted animal lover would prefer we all went vegan.

In the video – which runs under the hashtag ‘#MFMclimatepledge’ – he says: ‘I need your help, all I want you to do is just log in on pledge.meatfreemondays.com and pledge your support to the idea of meat-free Monday.’

More than 843,000 people – including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Spacey and Ricky Gervais – have signed up to the pledge. Why not add your name, too?
