Kim Dotcom, the head of Mega, apparently got Lizard Squad to stop the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live outages by making them an offer they couldn’t refuse.
Dotcom tweeted at the group, saying they could get Pro1 annual Mega vouchers that have 500 gigs worth of storage if they left PSN and Xbox Live alone. The tactic apparently worked.
Lizard Squad on Friday afternoon announced that the attacks on PSN and Xbox Live “have stopped.”
Confirming again that we are no longer attacking PSN or XBL, nor are any members. We will not be attacking them in the future. Thank MEGA.

However, on Friday, it appears that Xbox Live and PSN were intermittently down due to attacks, but according to Dotcom, is now a problem Sony and Microsoft must fix.

The problem Sony & MS have is that their own consoles become the DDoS attack because they are constantly trying to reconnect & login 🙁

Lizard Squad has been targeting Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network for the past several weeks. The first claimed attack took place over the summer.
