A Sudanese court on Saturday convicted former president Omar al-Bashir on corruption charges and sentenced him to two years of detention.
The latest protests were called to mark the 34th anniversary of the toppling of former President Jaafar Muhammad Nimeiry’s government.
“The ICC is the Place to Be!” was among several of the slogans shouted by dozens of Darfur advocates and members of the Darfuri Civil Society (DCS).
Last week, it was reported that the prosecutor was seeking an arrest warrant for Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir.
