Kanye West is receiving unexpected help from the Internet after announcing last week that he is $53 million in personal debt.
After a plea by Kanye on Twitter to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for $1 billion to fuel his creativity fell on deaf ears, a fan started a GoFundMe campaign for him.
“I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt… Please pray we overcome… This is my true heart…”

So far the GoFundMe page has raised over $8,000, but it may have backfired. According to TMZ, Kanye isn’t planning to take a single cent from the account. “Our Kanye sources tell us he will NOT take a penny from the account,” the site says.
Dan Rawson, who donated $10 to campaign, wrote: “Kanye you inspire me everyday. People hate on Kanye but the truth is that we need Kanye. I love you like Kanye love Kanye!”
Most of the donations however are $5 by people who seek to use the comments field to draw attention to different causes.
Despite its good intentions, Jeremy Piatt, who started the campaign, posted a message on Monday saying that Kanye has refused the money.
