Dead appeared to die on the Supernatural season 9 finale that aired on Tuesday night. He was fatally stabbed during a confrontation with Metatron.

But the mark didn’t let Dean really die.

It turned him into a demon.

Sam has no idea that he’s a demon.

The episode cut to black after it showed Dean’s black eyes, and screams were heard around the world, according to Popwatch.

Fans were surprised about what happened, but some were happy.

“Demon Dean!!! IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED,” said one.

“Dean’s biggest fear has finally come true!!!” said another.

“This storyline is gonna be so amazing. But yes, I am worried about Dean. I am VERY worried,” said yet another.

Supernatural has been renewed for a season 10 but a premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.

Based on previous premiere dates, it will almost certainly be in late September or early October. It’s staying in the same timeslot (with the new Arrow spinoff The Flash airing right before it), so it will most likely premiere on September 22, September 30, or October 7.
