Aquaman Star Jason Momoa Posts Photos of Quality Time With #1 Fan, His Grandma

Jason Momoa is a force to be reckoned with. Famous for roles such as the murderous Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and the formidable Arthur in the new Warner Bros movie Aquaman, it’s hard to imagine this hulk of a man has a softer side.

However, there’s one person in his life for whom Jason feels nothing but sweetness and affection: his grandma!

Grandma Mabel has become something of a feature on Jason’s Instagram page lately, especially since his recent visit to his hometown.

The 39-year-old native Hawaiian recently flew to Iowa to reconnect with dear friends and family at their Mid-Western home, having missed them during long periods of filming in Hollywood. The actor showed his love for his family clan in a series of heartwarming photos.

But Mabel took center stage in a series of posts with the actor and his grandma sitting side by side, sporting huge grins on their faces. The not-so-secretly sensitive Jason captioned one Instagram image with the words, “Needed to come home to Iowa and give my grams some aloha Love u forever grandma.”

Grandma Mabel, in turn, looked delighted to be reunited with her successful grandson.

It seems Grandma Mabel is also Jason’s number one fan, as the actor also makes sure to include his “grams” in behind-the-scenes escapades during filming on set. He recently used FaceTime to connect with his grandma whilst made up as Aquaman; lucky Mabel!

It’s heartwarming to see how the Hollywood star makes time for his elderly relative, even during highly pressured Hollywood filming schedules.

Judging by her expression, Mabel didn’t know what to make of the surprise!

Jason has been vocal on Instagram in the past about how he was “raised by women,” and clearly has a lot of love and respect for the matriarch of the family.

Now a huge Hollywood star, it’s clear to see that Jason has been careful not to forget his roots, and even enjoys a humble plate of eggs and bacon for breakfast with the woman who helped raised him.

Aquaman, released on Dec. 21, 2018, recently passed the $1 billion milestone at the worldwide box office and is heralded as becoming one of the highest-grossing movies of all time.

Jason joked of himself on social media that he’s ascended “from Baywatch, to making what once was the most disrespected superhero into a billion dollar movie,” but added that “no one gets to the top without the people that love them.”

With such visible love for his family, especially Grandma Mabel, it’s not hard to see how Jason Momoa has risen to the top at both the box office and in the hearts of movie-lovers the world over. Family comes first!
