The mother of Alyssa Funke, the student at Wisconsin-River Falls who recently committed suicide, says that what happened is terrible and that her family “is in so much pain.”

Melissa Funke revealed that she received chilling text messages from her daughter in the hours before the suicide.

Alyssa told her mother that she was upset about all the cruel messages and texts she was getting from former classmates at Stillwater High School after word emerged that Alyssa had starred in a porn video.

Students at the school were quickly drawn to the video and some responded by attacking Alyssa.

“I don’t want to be here anymore. I want to die,” Alyssa told her mother in a text message.

“I was shopping at Wal-Mart,” Melissa told Radar Online. “So I said, ‘I’m going to call you as soon as I get home.’ She said, ‘Ok, I’m going to take a shower. I love you!’”

But when she called, Alyssa didn’t answer. She had shot herself with a shotgun.

Melissa says that her daughter was successful in school and extracurricular activities, such as soccer and wrestling, and that “People didn’t like her because she was so pretty and smart.”

Wealthy classmates at Stillwater made fun of Alyssa for not having the right things.

“We couldn’t afford all the things other kids had, so she was made fun of for that,” Melissa said.

“Alyssa was bulled her whole life. After all this recent bullying, she couldn’t handle it anymore.“
