Conservatives Demand Hearings on Rogers-Shaw $26 Billion Deal

The proposed acquisition of Shaw Communications Inc. by Rogers Communications Inc. will likely face hearings from a Commons committee, after a Conservative MP argued that the deal needs to be probed.

“Some argue the Rogers-Shaw deal means more investment, others that it means less competition,” said Pierre Poilievre, Conservative Shadow Minister for Jobs and Industry, in a statement on Tuesday.
