‘World Union’ Donates Money to Rescue Attorney Gao Zhisheng

On September 5, 2006, China Democratic Party World Union (World Union) chairman Wang Jun led more than 90 party members and supporters of to gather in front of the Chinese Consulate in New York where they held a rally called “Learning from and Keeping up With Gao Zhisheng’s Spirit.” They called on the party members to actively donate money to rescue attorney Gao Zhisheng. Director of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP Li Dayong and general manager of Broad Book Inc. Xiao Jin attended the rally.

An open letter from the World Union to Gao Zhisheng read: “Attorney Gao, China and the international society are watching out for your safety every second. We are calling out, we are making strides, and we are following the direction and seeking the goals indicated by you. We will rationally and wholeheartedly push China step by step toward democracy, freedom, human rights and a legal system…Today, the World Union is holding a campaign called ‘Learning from and Keeping up With Gao Zhisheng’s Spirit.’ Members are giving a helping hand to rescue Gao Zhisheng by donating five, ten dollars or more. Some of the party members already made several donations. World Union chairman Wang Jun has donated 1000 dollars representing the World Union to those who are working on rescuing attorney Gao Zhisheng.”

“On a far shore of the Pacific ocean, all members of World Union expressed solemnly: Attorney Gao, you are China’s great hero, members of The China Democratic Party express their deepest respect to you!”
