A disturbing video that’s gone viral on WorldStarHipHop titled “Father Whoops on His 13-Year-Old Daughter Dressed Like Beyoncé After Missing for 3 Days” shows an angry father beating--or according to some, “spanking"--his daughter with a belt as a woman holding the camera yells at her.

Reports indicate that the father hit the girl in the legs and buttocks area because she was rebellious. He’s shown grabbing her by the hair as he hits her.

All the while, the woman holding the camera--possibly her mother--yells at her. The video has generated more than 3 million views and more than 20,000 comments.

A voice is heard saying that “she was off in the woods dead somewhere,” according to The Inqusitr.

A number of people in the comments section voiced concern, while some praised the father.

However, according to The Root editor Demetria L. Lucas, “no one’s self-esteem or confidence—two real issues here—ever got higher after being beaten.”

“In this most recent video, it’s a 13-year-old girl who hasn’t been home in three days. Something is already very wrong at home if the kid has run away,” Lucas writes.

She adds: “And given her stoic reaction to being beaten, it’s not a far leap of logic to guess this isn’t the first—and probably won’t be the last—time her father’s lost control and called it discipline. If you were getting beaten like that and tossed around like a rag doll—and also being called a ‘[expletive]’ and ‘ho'—wouldn’t you want to run away from home, too? Or better yet, when you got beaten like that, did you want to be at home?”

The video can be viewed below (Warning: profanity and disturbing content):
