An American flag was burned outside of the White House on Tuesday as part of the apparent “Million Mask March” commissioned by hacker group Anonymous.
A widely shared Twitter image showed a man in a Guy Fawkes mask standing behind a burning U.S. flag.
The masked protester is seen snapping a photo of the incident on his smartphone as the White House sits in the background.
It is unclear how many people showed up for the protest.
Around the world, a number of Guy Fawkes mask-wearing protesters took part in the march to protest against government corruption and spying.
