Ted Cruz won all 34 delegates selected at the Colorado Republican Convention on April 9 despite the fact that no voters went to the polls.

Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate, was not happy with these results:

“How is it possible that the people of the great State of Colorado never got to vote in the Republican Primary? Great anger – totally unfair!” said Donald Trump in a tweet.

Instead of caucusing, Colorado hosted a convention full of party insiders, a decision made by the Colorado Republican party in August 2015.

Neither John Kasich nor Donald Trump attended the convention, but Cruz’s campaign worked behind the scenes using a “persuasion team” to ensure that he would get the delegates.

Cruz is doing all that he can to keep Trump from acquiring 1,237 delegates, and winning the delegates in Colorado adds to his recent victories in Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Utah.

Currently, Donald Trump holds a 225 delegate lead over Cruz, with Trump at 758 and Cruz at 533.

Upcoming primaries include New York and Pennsylvania, each of which have shown favorable polls for Donald Trump.
