The Bachelor 2015, or season 19, will be cast soon and people want to know who it will be.

At first it looked like Chris Soules, the farmer who resides in Iowa, had wrapped up the gig. Noted blogger Reality Steve said that “this is his gig if he wants it,” and former Bachelorette Emily Maynard added that she thinks “every girl in America will be signing up to be on the next season of The Bachelor in hopes of meeting Chris!”

Soules later chipped in himself and said that “logically, it makes sense” for him to be the next Bachelor.

“You know, I live in Arlington, Iowa, and that’s why (going on The Bachelorette) made sense,” the 32-year-old said.

“It was a good opportunity for a guy like me. And it’s an even better opportunity to be on the other side, where you have the opportunity to meet 25 incredible women. So yeah, I would definitely consider it.”

But word later came out that Soules is facing competition from former Bachelorette contestant Arie Luyendyk Jr. The 32-year-old Netherlands native was actually a contestant on Maynard’s season.

“Lyendyk Jr. is now in the running to be the next Bachelor,” a source told Radar Online.

“Producers have already filmed him at home in Arizona, and they even sent a personal trainer to get him in shape for TV. They think he'd be perfect.”

A source close to production said that ABC is looking for “the anti-Juan Pablo.”

“Definitely want a really nice guy this time around,” the source told Entertainment Weekly. A decision could come any day now, perhaps even during the After the Final Rose special, but the network “will probably wait ’til very last minute to make the call.”

E! Online recently caught up with host Chris Harrison to ask if he would be the next Bachelor, but he said he wouldn’t at this time.

“I would, I believe in the show. The only problem is I wouldn’t be good on the show now, I host the show and I produce on the show. I know exactly what we’re producing right now, it would be hard, you have to have a little bit of innocence and naivete about walking in and just letting go. I wouldn’t, I would be thinking about ‘is this a good scene, is this going to fit in the show?’”

As for a projected premiere date, it’s pretty easy to predict. The show started premiering in January back in 2009 and hasn’t stopped since. And it’s always premiered very early in January. Based on this information, the Bachelor season 19 will likely premiere on Monday, January 5, 2015.
