The 100 will premiere on CW on Wednesday, March 19.

The show is set in a science fiction universe where a nuclear Armageddon decimated planet Earth, destroying civilization. The only survivors were 400 people who were living in 12 international space stations that were in orbit at the time.

97 years later, the survivors now number 4,000, and numbers are running out on their dying “Ark,” the 12 stations linked together.

“Draconian measures including capital punishment and population control are the order of the day, as the leaders of the Ark take ruthless steps to ensure their future, including secretly exiling a group of 100 juvenile prisoners to the Earth’s surface to test whether it’s habitable. For the first time in nearly a century, humans have returned to planet Earth,” according to CW.

The leaders on the Ark are blind to what happens to the 100 on Earth because of a lack of technology.

Cast includes Eliza Taylor (newcomer), Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost”), and Isaiah Washington (“Grey’s Anatomy”).

The series is based on the upcoming book series by Kass Morgan.
