An inspiring new video shows an 8-year-old boy who never had his own bed receiving one just before Christmas.

Daeyrs and his mother Dionna, from Detroit, had spent much of the boy’s life drifting from homeless shelter to homeless shelter.

The charity Humble Design, which helps furnish houses for people in new homes that were recently homeless, stepped in to help the family out after a social worker contacted them.

The video captures the surprised boy bursting into tears as he is shown his very own room, complete with a bed, chairs, cushions, toys, and an art set he'd long desired.

“This Christmas, Daeyrs got more than he expected. After sleeping on the floor and being homeless for most of his life, he finally has a place to really call home and a bed of his own. He really showed us what matters in life and we can’t wait to see what he'll become,” the charity said in a Facebook after releasing the video on Jan. 8.

According to Humble Design’s website, the charity “serves individuals, families, and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a warm, welcoming, and uplifting home with donated furniture and household goods.”

“We believe in restoring dignity to every family that has suffered through homelessness,” the group added.

People commented favorably across the charity’s channels after watching the video.

“Had me crying ... Wonderful what humble designs does for families in need of a little help,” said one Facebook user.

“Such a touching video—tissues definitely needed!” said another.

“I’m happy for them. Thanks to those that helped,” added a YouTube user.
