The move comes a day after the defeat of a Tory motion requesting the federal carbon tax be paused on all forms of home heating for three years.

‘I cannot accept the federal government giving an affordability break to people in one part of Canada, but not here,’ said Premier Moe.

The temporary pause will begin in 14 days, applying to all jurisdictions where the federal fuel charge is in effect.
