NISHINOMIYA, Japan—Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company held its last performance in Japan at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Nishinomiya on Feb. 21.

The famous Buddha statue sculptor, Mitsuaki Sudou, was seeing Shen Yun for the first time. With his heartfelt words, he praised Shen Yun, saying, “Wonderful! All programs were very beautiful and I felt something brand new. It was really amazing.”

Mitsuaki Sudou now has six young disciples. After seeing just the first half of the performance, he grabbed the program and said, “It made me feel lots of energy. I will bring this energy to my work. It’s inspirational for me. I want to work as hard as those performers, and share the energy with my disciples.

Sudou was also impressed with Shen Yun’s dynamic backdrop which expands and transforms the stage. He said, “It’s my first time to see such a backdrop, very fresh. I’ve never seen something like it before.”

Sudou repeatedly said a number of times: “Please make sure to notify me if there is such a Shen Yun performance in the future. I want to show those young people. It will make them more enthusiastic towards their work. It will be very good for them.”

The 66-year-old Mitsuaki Sudou has sculpted numerous statues, including the Buddha statue in the famous Kyoto Kiyomizu Temple in Japan.
