State Police are warning people of a telephone scam that has targeted several people in the state. The scam involves a caller threatening to harm a loved one of the scam victim if the victim does not send them money, usually outside of the United States. They have also told  the person that their friend or family member has been involved in a car accident or has been kidnapped.

State Police advise anyone who receives one of these calls or who has been victimized should contact their local policing agency to report it.
