Star Wars Episode 7 Cast Rumors: Latest Actors Attached to Episode VII
Besides the original three stars, the Star Wars Episode VII cast hasn’t been revealed at all beyond who’s being considered.
Several new rumors add names to the list of actors and actresses being considered for what will be one of the biggest films in the next few years.
Let’s check them out:
-Two members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot, Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, hinted to The Independent that they had been approached for roles in Episode 7. “We have some offers but we cannot say from whom,” said Tolokonnikova. “Nothing is agreed, “like Star Wars.”
-Tom Hiddleston, best known as Loki from the Thor movies, told TimeOut that he has not been offered a role in Episode 7. “It’d be very flattering, of course,” he said. “I did talk to Ewan about it once. When they asked if he wanted to be Obi-Wan Kenobi he said: “Are you joking? Of course!” But his experience didn’t live up to the promise. Besides, I imagine they’re looking for people who don’t have an association elsewhere. The audience need to believe in the character, rather than saying, “Oh look, Loki with a lightsaber!”’
-Alex Pettyfer (Endless Love) said that rumors about his possible involvement are true. “Wouldn’t that be exciting?” he says of working for George Lucas and J.J. Abrams. “All my peers have been rumoured.” He told the Toronto Sun that there’s been “reaching out,” a strange process where “friends of friends and acquaintances kind of gauge your interest through your manager.” “Again, I haven’t been asked to play anyone. It’s under wraps, so nobody knows what they’re being considered for.” (he’s rumored as Luke Skywalker’s son).
-Pettyfer was connected to the movie as far back as last fall, when it was rumored that Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan) also auditioned for the film. That rumor hasn’t been addressed yet.
-A rumor with an origin hard to trace indicates that almost every major character will return for Episode 7, including Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian.
