Deus Ex: Human Revolution Video Game E3 2010 Trailer

Video Game publisher Square Enix announced on July 27 that the highly anticipated main project of its Eidos Montreal producer, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has completed its development cycle or “gone gold”.

The game is the next in the Deus Ex series of computer games, born out of the original which was released in 2000 to wide critical acclaim, earning over 40 “Game of the Year” awards from numerous and renowned publications like the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, GameSpy, and PC Gamer, and has often been named one of the best games ever made.

Human Revolution will take place in the same futuristic neo-dystopian cyberpunk world as its predecessors, Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War, but will explore the past history and environment of the series as a prequel in the storyline.

Players will fill in the role of Adam Jensen, a private security officer working for the human augmentation megacorporation Sarif Industries, who is forced to receive heavy biomechanical augmentation to his body after surviving a violent terrorist attack at the company’s headquarters.

Embarking on a quest for revenge following his recovery, Adam is plunged into the depths of an immersive, extensive, and deeply engrained global conspiracy involving many of the world’s most secretive organizations; characteristically similar to the plots of all of the games in the series.

Human Revolution will feature a vast and beautifully designed futuristic world set in the year 2027 where major advances in biomedical technology are changing the face of the modern world and driving society in an unknown direction, an idea that is generating significant discontent among the general populace and creating unrest everywhere.

The game will be played in a mix of first-person and third-person action, switching between different styles of combat including melee and shooter sequences. The game’s visually stunning graphics and mechanics will all be powered by Tomb Raider-maker Crystal Dynamic’s newly developed Crystal Engine.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released in North America for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on August 23 and is available for preorder now.
