Ricky Spicer Sues Kanye West, Says West Stole Sample Used in ‘Bound 2’

Ricky Spicer, a former soul singer, has sued Kanye West because West stole a sample and used it in his hit single “Bound 2,” Spicer says.

Spicer, a 56-year-old Ohio resident who recorded the when he was the 12-year-old lead singer of The Ponderosa Twins plus One.

Spicer said that West never asked to use the sample. Spicer was shocked when he heard his voice in the song.

“Mr. Spicer’s voice is sampled exactly as he recorded it and his voice … is heard several times,” the lawsuit reads, reports the the New York Daily News.

Universal Music Group, the parent company of Roc-A-Fella Records and Island Def-Jam, hasn’t publicly commented on the lawsuit. Neither has West.
