An 11-year-old boy in Norway was caught driving a car—twice in one week—Norwegian news site Aftenbladet.no reported.

On Tuesday, a truck driver in southern Norway called the police after seeing a car going off the road. He said that the driver looked “very young.” Indeed, he turned out to be only 11 years old.

The boy, who was about 100 miles from his home in Rogaland in southwestern Norway at that point, told the police he was going to Denmark to meet some friends. The car belonged to his stepfather, but neither he nor the boy’s mother were aware of his plans.

The young driver was not easily discouraged, however. On Friday, he “borrowed” another car and set off again. This time, the police had to stop traffic to take the boy into custody.

In the investigation that followed, it also came to light that the boy had previously tried to drive off in a tractor. The case has now been transferred to the local social services.

“We are very worried about the risk that he subjects himself as well as other drivers to,” Operations Officer Svein Kjetil Larsen of the Rogaland District Police told Aftenbladet.no.
