Nanny cam home invasion suspect Shawn Custis was caught last week for the alleged beating of a mother in front of her 3-year-old child in an upscale New Jersey home, it was reported.

The 42-year-old was arrested in Manhattan by  New York and New Jersey FBI agents on Friday evening in the lobby of a building on 10th Avenue, reported NBC New York. Custis has a history of criminal burglaries.

Officials said that the mother and her girl were watching cartoons in Millburn last Friday when Custis allegedly kicked in the door and later beat the woman as the girl watched.

The incident was captured on a nanny camera.

“She stayed quiet because she didn’t want to upset the 3-year-old child who was witnessing the whole crime,” said Millburn Police Captain Michael Palardy, according to the broadcaster.

Video footage shows the man punching and kicking the woman before throwing her down the stairs.

“Where your pocketbook at?” the suspect demanded in the video, according to the New York Daily News.

The woman, who was not identified, suffered a leg injury, a concussion, chipped teeth, and bruises.

“I knew that if I started screaming, my daughter would, too, and I was afraid she would get hurt,” the woman said, elaborating on why she didn’t cry out.

The girl and a sleeping child upstairs were not hurt.

The suspect allegedly made off with the woman’s wedding ring.
