A man who scaled the walls of Buckingham Palace and got into the garden is a convicted murderer, a court heard on Friday, May 20th, as he was jailed for four months.

Dennis Hennessy, 41, repeatedly asked “Is Ma'am in?” in an apparent reference to Queen Elizabeth II after being arrested by police on Wednesday night.

After climbing the wall, which was up to three-metres high, and setting off an alarm, he spent around 10 minutes walking in the palace gardens, prosecutors at Westminster Magistrates’ Court said.
