Malik Whiter, a teen in Florida, tweeted out a photo of him smiling while his teacher, Susana Halleck, was apparently “in labor.” The photo was retweeted more than 20,000 times and he says the teacher “loves the picture.”
The photo, posted on TwitPic, reads it was a “selfie with my teacher while she having contractions.”
The Miami New Times reported that Halleck wasn’t due to have her child for another two months but started to have contractions while she was teaching on Tuesday.
Whiter, a Coral Springs Charter School, posted the image of him wearing sunglasses and grinning broadly. It was unclear if he was trying to make fun or make light of the situation.
Local 10 reported that Halleck was on the phone with her mother, describing the situation.
She later left school and went to the hospital but did not have the baby. Halleck returned to class on Thursday, according to the station.
“Is she really going into labor?!” asked a Twitter follower to Witner after he posted the image.
“Yeesss lmfao,” he responded.
When facing criticism about the photo and his grades, he responded: “Bot a B in the class and she loves the picture now you look stupid.”
Another wrote: “I really think [Whiter] should get on @TheEllenShow because of this viral picture with Halleck…”
