Lupillo Rivera is not dead, despite rumors about his death circulating online. He posted a video after the rumors went viral.

Rivera was hospitalized last month due to a pneumonia scare but seemed to be recovering. Some reports pegged him at almost 90 percent recovered.

A website called Hechos Meridiano reported on Thursday that there was a problem with the treatment, when a cerebral artery was blocked, which first caused loss of speech and then death.

The website said that a doctor alerted the family that they were attempting surgery because Rivera had a brain vascular accident.

“Despite attempts to recover the artery that was blocked, Rivera stopped breathing minutes after being admitted for surgery,” the report said.

But Rivera took to Facebook and Twitter to show that he’s still alive.

Rivera took to Twitter to say: “We cannot joke about the story [about my death]! Do not play like that! I’m getting ready to sing tomorrow morning in New York.”

“People are lying, and it’s all a lie,” he added in a video on Facebook.

Rivera’s wife Mayeli River said via Instagram:

“I never do these things but today it’s important that I ask you to help us in asking God for the quick recovery of my husband Lupillo Rivera,” she wrote on the photo sharing service attaching of pic of the singer being treated. “Unfortunately today he fell into the hospital due to a severe respiratory problem (I cannot give details) but I know he is going to be fine.”
