Owners of the Last of Us PS3 version could get a discount for the PlayStation 4 version.
“We’re looking into the business model for all this and will post about this once we have input from all regions,” said Naughty Dog’s Eric Monacelli said in a blog post.
The Last of Us Remastered Edition is due out this summer.
Sony has faced criticism for selling the PS4 version for full retail price when the PS3 version isn’t even a year old.
The next-gen upgrade discount has been offered for other games such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Naughty Dog also just announced a new DLC called Grounded Bundle which “will be the hardest challenge you’ll ever face as you try to complete the single player campaign of The Last of Us. The AI is relentless, smart and brutal – survival will be near impossible.”
The new DLC, available to all season pass holders, will also include four new maps--Wharf, Capitol, Coal Mine, and Water Tower.
The Survivalist Weapon Bundle, meanwhile, contains four new weapons: Specter, Double Barrel, Enforcer, and Launcher.
Two Survival Skills Bundles, Situational Survival Skills Bundle and Professional Survival Skills Bundle, are also included if you own the season pass.
Finally everyone, non-season pass holders included, will be getting a new gun--the Full-Auto Rifle--for free. “This is a fully automatic, modified burst rifle that is very easy to use. It’s the perfect weapon for people who are new to Factions and experts alike.”
