Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell are one of five couples featured on season 5 of VH1’s Couples Therapy.
Galavis is best known for being the Bachelor earlier this year, and Nikki won the show.
The couple was the last couple to be announced on the show.
Juan Pablo told Access Hollywood that he’s happy he and Nikki joined the show, which has been pre-recorded.
“We are so glad we did [‘Couples Therapy’],” he told said. “I don’t think we'd be together right now if we hadn’t done it.”
Pablo, 33, and Nikki have a long distance relationship, one of the focal points during the show. In addition, Pablo has a young daughter.
“The main issue I had was I'd never introduced my daughter to my girlfriend… I didn’t know how to handle it,” he said.
“Like if I said ‘girlfriend’ and we broke up, then another girlfriend, and [my daughter’s] like, ‘Daddy, what was that other girlfriend? And that other girlfriend’? I didn’t want that.”
Turns out, the show gets so intense at times that Pablo is seen crying.
“I’m a cry baby. It’s intense. I never thought it was gonna be that way,” he said. “You learn so much about yourself and the things that hurt somebody that you didn’t even realize.”
Pablo is often criticized for some of his actions, including not proposing to Nikki yet.
In fact, he hasn’t even told her he loves her.
“Just because he hasn’t said it to me doesn’t mean I don’t say it to him,” Nikki told ET Online.
“I don’t expect him to say it back when I say it, and maybe one day he will.”
“I don’t love her yet because that’s something more important for Latin people,” Pablo explained to the Miami Herald.
“It’s a different culture.”
