Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, the girlfriend of dead “Fast & Furious” star Paul Walker, was looking forward to spending “a bright future together,” her uncle said.
Barton Bruner, her uncle, told the Metro: “Paul was a really good guy and Jasmine is broken up by this. I went to Thanksgiving with him, played golf with him. They had their ups and downs but they were together and looking to spend a bright future together.”
He added: “This is horrible news and unexpected. Her mother is with her and she is comforting her.”
Walker and Pilchard-Gosnell reportedly got together when he was 33 and she was 16. Walker died last Saturday at the age of 40 in a fiery car crash.
According to the Daily Mail on Friday, Pilchard-Gosnell went to Walker’s family house and appeared visibly shaken. She had tears streaming down her face and her eyes appeared swollen from crying.
According to the Metro, Walker’s friend Jim Torp said that Rodas--an ex-race car driver--had decided to go for a short drive at a charity event.
“Roger backed it in to the garage and Paul jumped in and said “Hey, let’s go for a drive,’” Torp said, adding :"It’s strange. [Walker] made his movies. He lived his life and he died fast and furious today.”
“He loved speed, he loved cars and he had to die this way. He died in a very fast car with his friend.”
The Associated Press reported that Walker and his friend Roger Rodas both died from the impact and thermal-related injuries in the crash. The now-wrecked 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was driven by Rodas.
Walker starred in five of six “Fast & Furious” films that showed fast cars and dangerous driving.
Officials told AP they are still trying to determine the cause of the crash and how Rodas lost control. Speed was determined to be a factor in the catastrophic accident.
Universal Pictures said it has shut down production of Fast & Furious 7.”
