The recently-coined “death grip” on the iPhone 4 is continuing to cause trouble for Apple.

A design flaw correlating to the phone’s antennae has been attracting negative attention from consumers as well as electronics gurus across the nation.

Technological critics and experts gave the phenomenon the nickname due to a certain way the phone is held, leading to a recently-discovered malfunction with the antennae.

In order to combat the problem, Apple updated its website with new features advising users how to avoid the loss of their iPhone’s antennae power.

When the company released its iOS4 software they also changed the site’s hardware troubleshooting and MMS troubleshooting. Steve Jobs told consumers “just avoid holding it that way,” reported PC World.

When held in a specific and common position, the phone’s antennae is less effective. Reports have shown that three to four bars drop when held in that position.

Apple has not given any hints as to whether or not they will change the design of the iPhone.
