The latest iPhone 6 rumor points to Apple working on improving its iPhone cameras.

The improvement will likely be ready in time for the iPhone 6, which is slated to come out sometime this year.

A newly revealed patent that Apple filed around two years ago shows that the company is working on improving autofocus, and Optical Image Stabilization.

The stabilization allows users to take better pictures and videos even when there isn’t much light available.

Elaborating on the improved camera expected to be part of the iPhone 6, analysts with Nomura Securities told the China Post that there will be some improvements.

However, they also added that the camera is expected to keep the 8-megapixel sensor instead of upgrading to a sensor in the 12 to 16 megapixel range.

“Apple’s decision is based on the design requirement to retain the handset’s more portable form factor, said Nomura Securities,” it reported.

The 8-megapixel camera was first introduced in 2011.
