ZURICH—Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s second performance at the Kongresshaus in Zurich on March 22 provided the audience with scenes from China’s 5,000-year-old history, including stories from modern China.

New York-based Shen Yun, the world’s leading classical Chinese dance and music company, has as its mission the revival of China’s authentic, divinely inspired culture, says the company’s website.

Mr. K. Laver, head of a successful medical firm, and his wife, Silvia Laver, were in the audience.

“We enjoyed the show and must admit we are amazed at what we saw,” said Mr. Laver. “The music, dance and choreography were harmonized perfectly.”

His wife agreed and added, “We have never seen anything like it. The choreography and the colors were amazing. ... The costumes, the colors, the backdrop—everything harmonized so well.”

“Especially the backdrop—that was so interesting,” added Mr. Laver. “Sensational, absolutely outstanding.”

Ms. Laver particularly enjoyed one humorous dance.

“I loved the monks in the scene Joyful Little Monks. One can’t say that one scene was more amazing than the other, but including humor in one of the scenes was perfect,” she said.

“Shen Yun brings beauty, colors and joy and puts across an idyllic world. They did it perfectly. The smiles on their faces presents merriment through the arts. ... The show presented a beautiful picture,” she added.

Mr. Laver said he felt relaxed during the performance. “We felt the show was very interesting and we are glad we came.

“Shen Yun is something truly special. Something like this show is rare and it is unique. It brings cultural enrichment to the audience. One learns something and attains a new perspective of life.

“We gained a deeper impression of China’s culture. Presenting all of it through music and dance was very effective.”

Ms. Laver concluded by saying, “I’m sure our children would enjoy this show. They all are very interested in dance and music. And, as my husband said, it was totally different from what we have seen in the past. It is something beautiful. The show is aesthetic, refined, exclusive, and brings happiness.”
