Global Q&A: ‘What is the state of homelessness in your community?’
Maria Cirlene Conceição Santana, 43, Community Leader, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil: Most people who come to the shelter were living supported, and others come because they do not have a place to live. A socio-economic household registration process helps to provide services and professional courses for people to enter the labor force. A large portion of the Brazilian population is socially vulnerable. A government program called My House, My Life is a constitutionally guaranteed right to get a house. It is frustrating, and unfortunately, not every person and family who are in need can have a house. It is notorious that many Brazilians conform to having very little. (The Epoch Times)
