A recent review of the demo Samsung Galaxy S5 Active phone from AT&T by TK Tech News on Youtube, revealed the upcoming model of the phone including the specs, hardware, and software.

The Galaxy S5 Active is said to have a hard casing that feels more like an aluminum case rather than a plastic one, with metal outer sides and rubber around the edges. The microphone is on the bottom of the phone and the speakers are on the back. The buttons on the front are the same as in last year’s phone.

The size of the active is the same as that of the Galaxy S5.

The phone also has extra shock absorption, extra padding, and is dust and waterproof. It runs Android 4.4.2, has a 1080p HD display, a 2.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and 2GB of RAM.

The camera of the phone has 4K shooting abilities and comes with a 16-megapixel resolution. In terms of the screen, the Active is less washed out than the Galaxy S5. There’s also a heart rate measuring tool located just below the camera on the back of the phone, however in the demonstration video, the heart rate of the reviewer did not seem to get registered.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the device’s existence, but speculation offers reason to believe that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active will get released at the end of the year. The Galaxy S5 goes for $660 without contract at T-Mobile, while at AT&T the device costs $650. The Galaxy S4 Active costs $485 at AT&T, so the S5 could cost anywhere from $700 to $800 without contract.
