The House tabled a resolution on Dec. 6 to censure Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.).
Mr. Bowman admitted to activating the alarm, but denied intentionally doing so for the purpose of delaying a vote.
The statement did not name Mr. Bowman but describes his actions at a door in the Cannon Building.
The outcry against Mr. Bowman pulling the fire alarm is loud enough that he may face official censure. Will he be expelled from the House? Don’t bet on it.

The vote was on a stopgap measure to avoid a government shutdown.
