Summer Streets lasts three consecutive Saturdays in August and encourages the use of NYC’s streets and public spaces.
Top southern chefs will give demonstrations and seminars, creating a variety of pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, sausage, and brisket, in the Madison Square Park area this weekend.
Summer Streets will open for the second week between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14.
From Brooklyn Bridge to 72nd Street, seven miles of the two-way Manhattan avenue were car free for pedestrians and cyclists as part of an urban experiment, known as Summer Streets, engineered by the New York City Department of Transportation.
