A Chinese female rights activist said police threatened to leave her in a male prisoners’ cells to be gang raped—not the first report of such abuse.

The Chinese photojournalist Du Bin published online a book of poetry about torture inflicted by the state.
Human rights activist Du Bin was released on July 8, according to twitter updates from his sister and from his fellow activist.
Du Bin is in detention but update, saying that “prison is a life experience,” according to an update by his sister.
