After a number of murders and other incidents, the government is proposing new measures to make it harder for people to obtain crossbows.

On Tuesday police shot dead a man armed with a crossbow in Surrey Quays, south London and it has since emerged there was a restraining order against him.

A judge sentenced a man who scaled a wall into the grounds of Windsor Castle with a loaded crossbow to kill the Queen to nine years in custody.

Psychiatrist who works at Broadmoor secure hospital says: “This is not a document of a rational mind. It is not someone thinking rationally.”
