Parents and educators gathered at the Tweed Courthouse in Lower Manhattan on Sunday to protest a deal granting a waiver to Cathie Black.

Cathie Black, Mayor Bloomberg’s candidate for School Chancellor, was denied a waiver by a panel of associates.

Cathie Black, a manager of Hearst Magazines, was tapped to be New York City’s school chancellor, replacing Joel Klein.
