BERLIN—The Mohtachem family, Reza Mohtachem, architect and owner of an architecture firm, wife Ms. Wan Siu Wong, their son Dario, publisher and head of an economics magazine, and friend, were in the audience at the Opening Night of Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Internationales Congress Centrum (ICC) Berlin on March 17.
“I enjoyed the show very much, especially the music and the agility of the dancers,” said Mr. Mohtachem, who had seen New York-based Shen Yun three years ago.
His wife agreed, saying, “I was impressed with the costumes, and the harmony between dance and music. It was exceptional.”
She was impressed by the story-based dances depicting repression of belief and the story of Falun Dafa in China today. Wan Siu Wong was able to say, “Falun Dafa hao,” which translates into “Falun Dafa is good,” showing her support of the traditional spiritual practice.
Mr. Mohtachem said, “There are a thousand beautiful pictures. There is so much to see and very colorful. I definitely can recommend this show.”
Their son Dario said, “Shen Yun is a masterpiece.”
He said he was impressed with all aspects of the performance, and particularly the use of the animated backdrop, which is unique in both its vibrantly colored scenery and the transitions of the performers from stage to screen.
“It was very unique, especially when it appeared as if the dancers came out of the backdrop and then disappeared through it again. I haven’t seen anything like that anywhere.”
Shen Yun Performing Arts, based in New York, tours the world on a mission to revive traditional Chinese culture. Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company will give two more performances in Berlin on March 17 and 18, and then perform in Zurich, Switzerland, from March 23-26.
