An earthquake today in California was felt in a range of towns and cities, including Potrero and Imperial Beach.

The 4.2 quake struck near Campo, near the border with Mexico, the U.S. Geological Service reported. It was about 60 miles southeast of San Diego.

People commenting on the NBC San Diego’s Facebook page said they felt it.

“I felt it, and it was strong,” said Aida Tribolet of Eastlake.

Added Oreet Herbst: “A long bass rumble followed by a good shake - in El Cajon.”

Residents in Chula Vista, Romona, and Rancho Bernado also said they felt it, but a resident of Pacific Beach said she didn’t feel it.
