Swiss company Algordanza and American company LifeGem have decided to take cremated human remains and turn them into diamonds. That’s right, you can now wear your loved ones and carry them around with you forever. You can even wear your pets, too.

These aren’t fake diamonds, though they are artificially made. According to the LifeGem website, “LifeGem diamonds are molecularly identical to natural diamonds found at any high-end jeweler.  They have the exact same brilliance, fire, luster, and hardness (the hardest substance known) as diamonds from the earth.”

Each diamond is unique to each person, though most of the diamonds produced have a bluish tint. This is due to the Boron which is naturally found in human bodies, Algordanza CEO Rinaldo Willy says. Occasionally, though, diamonds of other various colors are produced, and nobody is quite sure why.
